It is impossible to say which treatment is best as there have been no head to head studies. That being said, a study on Finasteride resulted in the following: Patients’ self-assessment demonstrated that finasteride treatment slowed hair loss, increased hair growth, and improved appearance of hair. These improvements were corroborated by investigator assessments and assessments of photographs. Adverse effects were minimal.[1]
